I never got it working, but I dont think it was because I couldn't. I simply got another assignment, so focus shifted away from the project.
But I think if you decode the packages with the packet sniffer, you get something you can convert to the same format that you recieve from the serial connection when using the dongle. Best of luck with it though :)
