Forum Post: CC2450 and iOS Connectivity issues

I am building an app that utilizes a BLE connection.  The chip we plan on using is the CC2540.  I have purchased both the CC2540 Mini-DK as well as the full CC2540 development kit.  I have built an initial proof-of-concept app to connect over BLE to the development kits for iOS.  I was successful in getting my iPhone 4S to connect to both the Mini-DK keyfob, as well as the full DK running the SimpleBLE Peripheral software.

The problem arises when I try to load my software onto an iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad (4th generation).  The iPod periodically fails to connect to the DK, but successfully connects to the keyfob.  The iPod also fails to discover any services on the full DK when it does connect, but successfully discovers all available services on the keyfob.

The iPad acts differently again, connecting just fine to the keyfob, and a couple days ago I was having sporadic issues with connectivity, and retrieving advertised services, but today that doesn't seem to be a problem.

This is causing me great stress and confusion, as I have no idea if the problem is somewhere in Apple's implementation of the BLE stack, an actual hardware problem with my iPod, or some strange combination of factors resulting in the connectivity issues.

If anyone knows what is going on, or where I can start looking, please help.

I have uploaded my sample project to https://github.com/starphoenix/BluetoothDemo
