I am working on CC2530-2591EM modules for a RTLS application. LoS and omnidirectional antenna, I had some tests within 75 meters. RSSI generally reflects the distance in logarithmic form but for nearly all tests there are inconsistencies on the signal. If I give more detail, the receiver is walking between 25meter to 60 meter with a constant speed but RSSI first decrease as normal but randomly it inreases (since the receiver is walking away) again the signal decreases. But of course this random inconsistency damages the RTLS success.
Whether I use Lowpass filter or kalman, there is nothing to do for a signal out of the normal character since it is not a noise...
Do you have any idea why this might happen? Did you have any similar application??
What do you think for LQI or TOF or any other indicator for supporting RSSI? Are there any more indicator to use rather than LQO, TOF?
