Forum Post: Taking advantage of the PAN1326 Dual-mode capabilities?

I'm trying to design a headset that can take advantage of the PAN1326's Dual-mode capabilities, i.e. run A2DP while active, then switch to Low-Energy while sleeping or idle.  The materials I've found are confusing and seem to conflict with one another.  The brochure and the datasheet for the PAN1326 make a point of the Dual-mode feature, as well as the fact that the MSP430 series can be easily integrated as the host processor.  However, my partner found on the CC256x Bluetooth Stack wiki page that the Bluetopia stack will only do BLE with the MSP430, and A2DP/SPP with the Stellaris.  There's also a post in the RF forums from two years ago saying that the MSP430 doesn't have enough memory to run A2DP.

Since it seems that the Stellaris can't run BLE (and therefore pointless for me to use as a microcontroller), is there a way build on to the MSP43054F38A that will allow my partner and I to use it for A2DP, or do we need to find another microprocessor (or even a different Bluetooth module?)  If that's the case, just how much memory does A2DP need to run?

Thanks!
David
