I got in the same situation.my soft enters-- exits pm2 without respecting the guard time,the timer remains ok,the problem is while exiting the loop pm2 :my 26mhz hs osc system become a 13mhz hc osc ,and my uart tx-rx datarate at 19200 become a 9600b/s ( ofcourse reduced by a factor of twoo) then i made the system believe the settings in uart to 131 /10 to adjust to 38400 ,( in fact a trick to keep the uart connection at 19200) while later calmly i adjust back the hs osc 26mhz and thas all, i learned to live with that,but never adding 11ms delays loops ,sacrificing the quality of the lapsos in pm2 and savinf energy :)
