Currently our product is using CC2560YFVR. However this chip is EOL and is being replaced by CC2560AYFVR.
We need our firmware to be able to differentiate between these 2 IC's in the field as our customers would upgrade the old devices in the field to the newer firmware. So the new firmware has to still be able to detect the old IC and load the correct older patch file for older devices.
So we need to find out what information will the HCI command HCI_READ_LOCAL_VERSION_INFORMATION return for the old CC2560YFVR versus the new CC2560AYFVR? Will the information be the same?
Is there any other information that the firmware can read to reliably identify the version of IC (CC2560 or CC2560A) that is currently mounted on the device?
