Thanks very much for your response. let me refine my question:

in ZGlobal.c, we setup default scan duration as:

// Default starting scan duration
uint8 zgDefaultStartingScanDuration = STARTING_SCAN_DURATION;   which is 5,  (beacon_order_480_ms).

however, we change this zgDefaultStartingScanDuration to 2(BEACON_ORDER_60_MSEC) in ZDApp.c when rejoin is started(case ZDO_NWK_JOIN_REQ)

apparently we short the scan duration during rejoin and never restore it to 5(480ms) any more, I wonder what is the reason behind this? is there any advantage we get by reducing scan duration from 480ms per channel to 60ms per channel? if 60ms per channel is better, why we start as 480ms scan duration?
