Forum Post: SPI speed degrades CC1120 RF performance

Hi,

I am developping a product using 5002eZDSP kits and CC1120 EVM boards. I am running the CC1120 with the values from RF studio for 200kbps @ 868mhz 4GFSK. I get good range when I operate the SPI bus with a clock frequency of 750kHZ. To do all the stuff I need to do in the DSP I need to boost the SPI clock speed to 4Mhz. When I do so I get very poor range.

It seems as if the CC1120 rf performance degrades very much when I increase the SPI operating speed.

Can you confirm that using SPI at high speeds can degrade the performance of chip ? If so what can I do to remedy this problem ?
