First steps with the Keyfob - discovery won't work ...

4.2 …
“At this time you will want to insert the battery (or remove and re-insert the battery to reset the device) into the keyfob (peripheral). When you insert the CR 2032 battery, the LED will be lit green for one second.”
This was not the behaviour observed, instead, the LED did not light but the internal buzzer sounded continuously.
4.2.1…
“ To enable advertising and make the keyfob discoverable, press the right-hand button on the keyfob once. This will turn advertisements on; making the device discoverable for 30 seconds (this value is defined in the Specification of the Bluetooth System [6]). … During discoverable mode, the LED will flash red. ”
Once again, this was not the behaviour observed. When the button was pressed, the LED lit continuous green. When pressed a second time, it lit red, and after a third press went out.
Has anyone any ideas as to what is going on here, and what to do about it?
