My apoligies for the delayed response.
The bootloader images you refer to (TrxEB and CC Debugger) are quite similar and both should in fact work.
The TrxEB bootloader does configure some more I/O. This may cause high current consumption on your board (and thus voltage drop and reset). If you could supply the schematics for your board, it will be easier to help you.
To check whether the TrxEB bootloader is running at all, check that CC2511 pin 18 (P2.4) is toggling (this is the TrxEB "USB LED"). For more info about this toggling, please see the TrxEB user's guide, section 6.9.2 (SWRU294).
